Franklin occupies a unique spot as the southernmost city in our core service area where the $11 base pickup fee applies with no fuel surcharge. The city has a genuine small-town identity anchored by Franklin College and the historic courthouse square, but it's also grown significantly along the Hurricane Road and Needham Boulevard corridors with modern subdivisions and retail. That blend of old and new creates diverse pickup needs. The homes surrounding the college campus and downtown — many built in the early 1900s through the 1960s — often come with heavy cast-iron radiators, ancient water heaters, and original appliances that weigh a ton but are packed with valuable scrap metal.
