The Simple Rule

How to Know If Your Item Has No Surcharge

If the majority of the item's weight is metal, it has no surcharge.

That's the only rule. It doesn't matter what brand it is, how old it is, whether it works, or what condition it's in. If it's mostly metal by weight, we'll haul it with no added fee beyond the base pickup charge.

The $11 Eco & Fuel Recovery Fee is a one-time fee per pickup stop — not per item.
Got a washer, dryer, and a pile of scrap metal all at one address? That's one $11 fee for the whole pickup.

Items that are not predominantly metal — like furniture, mattresses, TVs, and items requiring freon removal — carry a per-item surcharge on top of the $11 base. Those are listed on our surcharge pricing page.

Kitchen Appliance Pickup — No Surcharge

Old kitchen appliances are some of the heaviest metal items in your home. A single stove contains 100–150 lbs of steel. All of the items below are included in the $11 base pickup fee with no additional charge.

Gas stoves, electric stoves, ranges, cooktops, and double ovens. Any brand, any size. Disconnect gas line first if applicable. +$0 surcharge.

Commercial kitchen equipment, metal shelving, stainless steel tables, metal kitchen carts. If it's metal, +$0 surcharge.

Laundry

Washer & Dryer Pickup in Indianapolis — No Surcharge

Washers and dryers are our most-requested pickup items. A standard washing machine weighs 150–200 lbs — almost entirely steel and copper. Included in the $11 base pickup fee with no additional charge, whether they work or not.

Water Heaters & HVAC

Water Heater & HVAC Equipment Pickup — No Surcharge

Water heaters and HVAC components are packed with recyclable metal. Drain the tank before pickup. Central AC units, heat pumps, and furnaces are included in the base fee with no surcharge. Window and portable AC units carry a +$15 surcharge due to EPA-required freon recovery — see surcharge pricing.
